The Hispanic/Latino Advisory Council serves as a liaison between the State Office of Ethnic Affairs and the Hispanic/ Latino community.

The council assists in keeping the governor apprised of the level of responsiveness of state government agencies to the needs of the Hispanic / Latino constituents within Utah by:

• Gathering information about the needs of constituents and reporting findings with recommendations to the State Office of Ethnic Affairs and Governor's Office as to how the State can respond to issues impacting the Hispanic/ Latino population of Utah.
• The council encourages community involvement and coordination among the other ethnic councils as common issues arise.
